High blood pressure also known as hypertension is a condition affecting millions of adults, teenagers and even children. This condition results when the heart is forced to work harder to pump blood through blood vessels. Several factors are known to cause this condition including obesity, smoking, excess alcohol consumption and health conditions affecting the kidneys. This condition can be fatal if not treated and heart failure and stroke are likely to occur when the condition goes unchecked.
