Cough is a repetitive reflux to get rid of irritants, microbes, foreign particles etc from breathing passage. Coughing is also cause in disease condition like from viral and bacterial infection.

Home Remedies for Cough

Home remedies are way to treat body naturally and more securely. Cough itch which irritates throat can be easily relieved with help of home remedies. These herbs, fruits and vegetables have great source of compounds which increase immunity of body and prevent cough from coming back.

Herbal Treatment

Clove

Clove can efficiently cure cough.  Itching irritation which is caused by cough can be soothe by usage of clove. Using clove is easy and also doesn’t produce any adverse effects.

  • Take 2 or 3 cloves.
  • Keep them in mouth and suck them but don’t eat it.
  • Keeping sucking till you feel relieve.

Cinnamon

Cinnamon is also an herb which helps giving ease from coughing. Also itch and irritation which is followed by cough is tendered with the use of cinnamon. It is used in many dishes and is easily available.

  • Take cinnamon stick.
  • Take it in mouth and crush it with teeth. Do not crush it too much.
  • Suck it slowly and keep it in mouth for hours to ease cough.

Thyme

Thyme is in used from centuries to treat cough because of its effective affect on cough. It executes bacteria as well as other infection which become reason of cough. This herbal treatment is a perfect cough reliever.

  • Thyme can be taken in form of tea.
  • Adding it with other herbs like mint or licorice gives it good flavor.

Sage

Sage is best known for treating throat related problems. It completely provides ease from cough irritation.

  • Take sage leaves and add it in boiling water of 2 cups.
  • Also add honey, one teaspoon for better taste.
  • Leave it for at least half an hour.
  • Strain and drink it. It can also be used for gargling.

Carrot

Carrots are rich with Vitamin A which makes it effective against causes of cough. Presence of carotene make it good antioxidant agent. It can be used in cough without producing any adverse effects.

Orange

Orange is good source of Vitamin C. It may not cure cough but eases its pain or irritation caused by it in throat.

Lemon

Another citrus fruit is lemon which is also a good source in decreasing causes of cough. Like orange, lemon is also rich with Vitamin C and helpful in treating cough.

Tomato

Tomato is filled with Vitamin C and A which makes it a strong antioxidant agent. It fights origin of cough and prevents it without producing any harm to the body.

Garlic

Garlic has been used for centuries to treat cough. It is used in form of tea. It can also be used raw to make it more helpful in curing cough.

Green leafy vegetables

Green leafy vegetables are also great source of Vitamin, which boosts immune system of body and give it strength to fight foreign bodies. Vegetables such as spinach, cabbage, cauliflower etc can be taken to prevent cough.
