Natural ways to get rid of Low Blood Pressure

Low blood pressure is also referred as hypotension. It is caused due to shortage of oxygen in blood and also due to blood loss. Although, low blood pressure is not consider as a big medical problem but it can affect daily life of a person and if the blood pressure becomes extremely low, person may faint.

Low blood pressure is most of the time associated with any other medical problem and is the underlying cause of any disease. Normal blood pressure value is 120/80 mmHg. If the value is very lower than this value that mean you have hypotension.

The problem of low blood pressure is commonly present in mainly women and in people who are weak. The first symptom that a person feels when the blood pressure drops from normal value is mild headache and dizziness. Pain in different body area can also be felt because of the lower and slow blood supply to different body organs. Numbness of legs and hands can also be experienced.

One type of hypotension is Postural Hypotension. Postural Hypotension is the lowering of blood pressure due to change in position. Like many people find it hard to get up instantly from the bed in the morning. Their feet feel numb and they feel dizziness.

The main causes of lower blood pressure are:

  • Improper diet
  • Low water intake
  • Over exercise
  • Lack of sleep
  • Body exertion
  • Anemia (lower blood in the body than normal)

Low blood pressure is not a disease but condition. This problem can be controlled by changing dietary habits and also by managing physical work. There are certain plants and herb that can naturally maintain the blood pressure and keep body in good shape.

Some herbs that are widely used in low blood pressure condition are:

Shepherds purse

This herb posses many important properties, that makes it helpful to be used in maintaining blood pressure. It increases the blood production. It increases the blood pressure by constricting the blood vessels.

Valerian and Hawthorn Berries

These herbs have positive effect in maintaining the blood pressure. These two are combined together to make tea which is used mainly to control blood pressure. Hawthorn berries have been in use for centuries. It is considered as very friendly herb for heart.

 

Kelp

This herb soothes blood vessels and helps the vessels to work properly. It has the property to clear the vessels that gives the smooth blood flow and maintains pressure.

Ephedra

Ephedra is a strong herb used to regulate blood quantity. It is used in small dozes by the individuals with low blood pressure. It is strictly recommended that people with high blood pressure should not use this herb without consulting the doctor. It has the property to increase blood pressure and it should be consumed within the healthy limit.

Other things that can help in low blood pressure

Along with these herbs, water should also be taken if anyone suffers from low blood pressure. Increased water intake maintains blood volume and keeps the blood clean. Not only in low blood pressure, water is essential in controlling many other problems also like it keeps the kidney healthy. In hot weather, it is necessary to drink more water.

Juices of beet root, pomegranate, grape etc should also be taken to maintain the blood values within normal range. Anything that increases the blood production will also help in maintaining blood pressure.
